Robert B. Worman is an attorney and Florida Supreme Court Certified Circuit Mediator. The focus of his practice is the representation of businesses and individuals engaged in the construction industry throughout Florida. His clients include bankers, developers, general contractors, subcontractors, material suppliers, building material manufacturers and manufacturer’s representatives, architects, engineers, and others. His litigation work takes him to courts throughout the State of Florida. As a legal advisor, Mr. Worman has assisted clients in projects across the United States. Mr. Worman’s practical experience comes through his many years of working in his family’s building material/lumber business in Daytona Beach, Florida.

Mr. Worman graduated with honors in 1969 from the University of Florida’s College of Business Administration, majoring in Accounting. In 1973, he graduated from the University of Florida Law School with his Juris Doctorate.

After working in the Tax Department in the Atlanta, Georgia Accounting firm of Peat, Marwick & Mitchell, in 1974, Mr. Worman became associated with Linton Waterhouse, a well-known construction litigation attorney in Orlando, Florida. He became a shareholder in the Law Firm of Waterhouse and Worman, P.A., followed by Roth, Weiss & Worman, P.A. In 1981 Mr. Worman went into solo practice as The Law Office of Robert B. Worman and was later joined by Scott S. Sheffler. In 2006, the firm of Worman & Sheffler, P.A., was founded.

Mr. Worman limits his practice to construction, real estate, and business law. As General Counsel to the National Association of Credit Management of Florida, Inc., he works closely with its Construction Lien Notice in the Owner/Contractor Department as its legal advisor on all lien, bond law, and legislative matters. Also, he is legal counsel to its Board of Directors. Mr. Worman serves as a legal advisor to the Improved Construction Practices Committee (“ICPC”). This committee represents major construction industry companies in Florida dedicated to monitoring and promoting fair legislation and administrative rules governing Florida’s construction and credit industry.

Mr. Worman is a past member of the State of Florida’s Construction Industry Licensing Board, having been appointed by Governor Martinez in 1989.

Over the years, Mr. Worman has been actively involved in the construction law legislative process. He has assisted in the drafting of significant construction lien and bond law legislation. Mr. Worman is also a well-known lecturer throughout the State of Florida on Florida’s Construction Lien and Bond Laws. He has been a contributing author on Florida’s Construction Lien Law and Bond Claim Statutes, published as part of The Credit Manager’s Survival Kit.

Mr. Worman resides in Longwood, Florida, with his wife, Marjorie. They have two grown sons. Mr. Worman has been active in many community and civic organizations, presently volunteering as a member/trustee for various non-profit corporations.
